About Housing
The majority of people in Marion County live in owner-occupied homes, although the county also has the largest number of renters in the state, as well. A mix of housing is a hallmark in this county, the largest and most urbanized in Indiana. Median value of owner-occupied housing stood at slightly over $100,000 in 2006, with the majority of homes sold in that year averaging between 1400 and 2000 square feet.
