About Cardiovascular Disease

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death both in the United States and the world.  Heart disease contributes to 29% of deaths in the United States.  The term cardiovascular disease encompasses a wide range of conditions, including coronary heart disease (heart attack), raised blood pressure (hypertension), and rheumatic heart disease.  The risks attributed to cardiovascular diseases can be reduced by taking measures to prevent and control the contributing factors.  Utilize the links below to learn more about cardiovascular disease and what Marion County residents can do to lower their risk.
