About Behaviors
Health and disease status are determined by dynamic interactions among biological, psychological, behavioral, and social factors.  While the impact of these interactions proves difficult to gauge, behavioral determinants of health unfold throughout the life cycle to influence health status. For example, existing research suggests that individual behavior and choices, workplace interactions, and community involvement all influence or contribute to overall health. Through an understanding of health behavior, behaviors that people engage in while well in order to maintain health and prevent disease, we may come to a better understanding of the stakeholders of the community health care system, and how the health of each is affected by the presence or absence of behavioral health activities
